The Municipal Garage Division
provides maintenance and repair services for all City owned vehicles and
equipment.
This includes all police cars,
fire trucks, cars and other personnel carrying vehicles and all equipment
including bull dozers, graders, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes,
dump trucks, air compressors and etc used by the City.
There are more than 240
individual vehicles and pieces of equipment. In addition, the garage
maintains and operates a four pump fuel station, which provides fuel for all
City vehicles and equipment and other agencies in the local area.
The garage also provides welding
services to outside departments and assists the Highway Division with bridge
maintenance and other welding requirements.
All of the garage
mechanics have current certifications from the National Institute of
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), which is a continuing education program
for passenger vehicle and equipment maintenance mechanics.
