The
Department of Public Works is responsible for planning, directing, managing and
overseeing the maintenance and operation of many of the City’s infrastructure
resources. Included in these resources are the roads, streets, sidewalks,
storm drainage system, landscaping within the City right-of-ways and parks, the
urban forest including trees along City streets, the City’s fleet of vehicles
and equipment and the City’s solid waste facility.

In addition to the Department’s regularly scheduled
maintenance, inspections and construction program, we rely upon concerns
called in by citizens of the city to help us identify problem areas needing
attention.
During an average year we receive about 2,000 customer concerns from citizens of
the City. We try to respond and address each call as quickly as possible. |
