 LYAC Receives "Community Impact" Red Cross Heroes Award
 

PRESS RELEASE: April 24, 2008

At this morning's 2008 United Valley Red Cross Heroes Award Ceremony, members of the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council received the "Community Impact Award" for their U Booze U Looze peer-to-peer underage drinking awareness campaign and their 22-minute film SMASHED that's been approved for driver's education curriculum Statewide.

LYAC had been nominated by Linda Varrell who had served alongside LYAC members during the City of Lewiston's successful quest for the distinction of All-America City bestowed by the National Civic League.  At this morning's recognition ceremony, LYAC members received a plaque and certificates  from Tory Ryden of WMTW - Channel 8, as the station was the sponsor for LYAC's award.
