The Planning
Board and staff with much assistance from land use planner
Robert Faunce have been working on a number of possible
amendments to the Zoning and Land Use Ordinance.
Public
meetings/workshops have been scheduled to discuss these proposed amendments. These meetings
will be followed by a public hearing(s) at which time the Board will vote and take a
formal action(s) on whether to recommend for the City
Council’s consideration amendments to the Zoning and Land
Use Code.
At this

Information
related to these meetings shall be provided below and may be
updated periodically. Please note all documents are draft
proposals that still need refinement. The Planning Board has
instructed staff to begin holding public meetings to present
information and obtain input on the proposed changes.
Comments and input from the public are welcomed and needed
assist the Board and staff in drafting provisions that will
be effective and manageable.

The following information relates to a
proposed amendment to Article XI, District
Regulations of the Zoning and Land Use Code.
Specifically, the amendment involves the
consolidation of the use, space and bulk
standards contained in Article XI into a
table and matrix. The purpose of the
amendment and matrix is to consolidate a
section of the ordinance into a format that is
easier to interpret and maintain. Once
adopted, the matrix will provide staff and
citizens an easier means of providing zoning
and land use information. The amendment also
includes clarification and consolidation of
permitted and conditional uses as well as some
space and bulk standards of some zoning
districts.
