Lewiston Redundant Waterline Project

Letter to Property Owners

Why Are We Undertaking This Project?

Currently, the City of Lewiston relies on pipeline infrastructure, the majority of which is over 130 years old, to convey drinking water from the Lake Auburn Water Treatment Plant (LAWTP) through the City of Auburn and under the Androscoggin River to Lewiston.  For several years, Lewiston has been exploring alternatives to provide another redundant pipeline to reliably convey water to the City of Lewiston.

How Will This Be Accomplished?

The Lewiston Public Works Department will undertake a utility construction project that involves the installation of a pipeline that travels through the City of Auburn to the City of Lewiston.
